The First Baptist Church Women’s ministries seek to win woman to Christ and encourage them to grow in their relationship with God and others. by providing opportunities for spiritual growth, close fellowship, meaningful service and effectual outreach.
Below you will find many of our ministries geared toward woman 18 years and older which will allow you to become involved.
Women’s Bible studies meet on various days and at various times throughout the week to meet your busy schedule. We encourage you to join us for one of our dynamic and life changing studies, which can be joined at any time during the year.
Thursday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30 in the reception room.
First Place 4 Health
First Place 4 Health is a wellness program that focuses on putting Christ first in the four areas of our lives: heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30). Join First Baptist Church women in learning how to live a balanced life. This class takes place Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm in the church fellowship hall.
Sunday Bible Study
The woman’s class meets in the Library during Sunday school hour on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am.
This is an opportunity for younger women in attendance at First Baptist church to meet for face-to-face counseling and personal mentoring by mature women in the church. To become part of the women’s mentoring ministry as a younger woman or mentor, please contact the church at 440-458-5128 or visit our welcome center located in the main lobby during regular weekly services.
In our busy world we seldom take time to stop and truly enjoy the people around us. Time spent with others, especially those who have a heart for god, can be so uplifting and fulfilling. Join the women of First Baptist church in the close fellowship opportunities below.
Stitching Sisters meets on the last Tuesday morning of the month at 10:00 am Iin the reception room.
Ladies Day Out
The first Sunday of each month following the morning worship service the woman of FBCElyria head out for lunch at a neighborhood restaurant.
More Than Mommies
More Than Mommies is a ministry promoting activities for moms of preschoolers. Regular events and Bible studies are available with childcare provided.

The Woman’s Retreat happens annually in the fall. This is a great opportunity for fellowship, relaxation and spiritual growth.
Taste of Grace
The women of First Baptist church take great pride in serving the church and local community through the Taste of Grace ministry. Taste of Grace serves in providing meals for convalescents and new parents, respite care, church transportation, shut-in visitation, military and student encouragement, and other special events. The First Baptist Church women’s ministry offers outreach opportunities each month. These outreach opportunities give women the ability to serve both locally and globally by using their talents and time to minister to others.
Women for Missions
Women for Missions serve missionaries and their families with encouragement and tangible items for mission’s services. They offer a greeting card services that acknowledges missionary birthdays and anniversaries, while also managing the inventory and distribution of the fbc “missionary closet” of items needed on the mission field. Women for Missions meet at 10:00 am in the reception room on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Faith Baptist Community Center
Located in the city of Cleveland, the Faith Baptist Community Center, along with the women of First Baptist Church, provide a monthly luncheon and Bible study for women in the inner city. This takes place on the third Thursday of each month, leaving the church at 10:00am.
